Stanley’s ultra-bright 5-watt LED spotlight has 192 lumens, up to 10 hours of runtime, and is over 2X brighter than a standard LED spotlight, as well as being 50% smaller with up to 40X longer run times. The unit charges in 2 hours or less, provides a constant light output, maintains brightness, has a rubber bezel and handle and rechargeable 7.2 Volt Ni-MH battery, and includes AC and DC charging rods.

Stanley 5 Watt LED SPOTLIGHT -- HIGHLY Recommended.
This if first LED flashlight I have found to be truly useful and bright. It is bit small for a spotlight in traditional sense but it is great for around yard garden. Things 1/3 to 1/2 city block are adequately illuminated to make them out. Its small size has a positive too not heavy easy to carry takes up little space compared to a regular hand held spot light.

One quirky thing is the "dimmer" switch. This must be learned to use. I pressed the buttons and nothing seemed to happen. After several uses and some disappointment I thought hmmmm what happens if i HOLD DOWN on dimmer / brightener buttons. Golly gee!! IT DOES WORK. It is a true "dimmer" switch of "sliding range variability" not just dim and bright settings!! Now I not only have bit brighter spotlight but also one that goes to fairly low illumination level too. Call me dumb I guess.

Despite a plastic case it is very sturdy and is well designed. I highly recommend this product. :2010-09-16 05:03:54

Bright but poorly designed
Yes this is a very bright light. However it has some flaws that make it just "ok."
First the trigger lock. You should just be able to press the trigger and have it click on. My feeling is that in most cases when someone is using this light they just want it to turn on and stay on. You have to press the trigger then move the lock button to lock it on which can require two hands.
Next is the green light that comes on when it is turned on. Why is this here? Isnt the fact that a big bright 5 watt light is shining out of it enough indication that it is on? This green light is distracting when walking in the dark and trying to use the flashlight to see.
Next are the dimming switches. Yes there are 2. One is for dimming and the other is for making it brighter and they are poorly designed. You must press and hold the button down and the brightness level changes incrementally. You cannot control how much unless you quickly let go once it gets to where you want it. :2010-09-16 05:03:54

More to come as I test more
Im not finished testing it but I want to advise potential buyers of a couple of drawbacks to this light...one being mentioned several times by other reviewers and one SURPRISINGLY not yet stated by any reviewer. First (as noted by several) the fact that the brightness control has no memory is a real pain. It will maintain the brightness at which you set it (clumsily via the up and down buttons at the rear of the unit) but the second you let go of the trigger and the light shuts off the memory of where you last set the brightness is LOST. So 5 seconds later when you turn on the light again you have to go through the awkward process of adjusting the brightness control which takens concentration...and which diverts your attention from where you are walking etc. But as for the 2nd drawback Im VERY surprised that no one as yet has mentioned this. Despite splashing the phrases: 192 lumens!!! and "10 hours runtime" on the front of the package these two figures dont equate. At the 192 lumen le :2010-09-16 05:03:54

Whats out there at night?
Living a few miles outside of town we have our share of wildlife. We also have two dogs who need to do their business before bedtime and we dont want either of them (especially our ten-pound poodle) meeting up with any of that local wildlife! These Stanley 5-watt LED spotlights (we just bought our second one) are perfect for nightime dog-walking. They provide a great sense of security as they not only light up the yard but also shine into the field across the street. Yes they are that bright! Ill probably be buying two more as Christmas gifts because of requests from family who visited this summer. By the way the battery lasts for many days of dog-walking and the recharge is exceptionally fast. :2010-09-16 05:03:54
